I stumbled across this site recently: Technology, Entertainment, Design (or TED) which (in their words) “brings together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).” Some really interesting videos on there… for instance, HERE‘s a video giving Al Gore’s latest thoughts on climate change.
The “Analysis” programme on BBC Radio 4 this evening was interesting CLICK HERE, “Mukul Devichand meets China’s eco-warriors in Beijing and asks how the rest of the world should understand the significance of their activism”. More information can be found HERE. I think the ‘exporting of harm’ is conveniently ignored by many Western consumers (when folk moan about China opening one (or two) new power stations every week… etc, etc… without stopping for a minute to think about who is creating most of this demand). It seems that even Walmart are starting to act now (HERE).
