The conference takes place in the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India, September 21-23, 2008. The deadline for the second and final call is June 18, 2008. The ISDRC 2008 is aiming to be carbon neutral… could this start the trend for all academic conferences (it’s about time eh?)


Call for CSR papers – Asian Business & Management

Call for Papers: Special issue on “Globalization and CSR in Asia”

Submission deadline: September 2008 for publication: June 2009

 

Asian Business & Management is pleased to announce a special issue focused on a timely and critical assessment of globalization and CSR in Asia, with a view to developing a theoretical and empirical understanding of the issues described as CSR that are emerging in Asia.

 

Our fragmented knowledge of CSR in Asia needs to be reshaped into a coherent understanding so that we can understand each part better. Therefore, the purpose of this special issue is to bring together some of the brightest minds around the whole area of CSR to provide a comprehensive overview of the following topics:

 

1.      Theoretical, conceptual and perspective papers critically assessing the limits of extant knowledge (literature) on CSR, while exploring and expanding the scope and horizons of future development

2.      Critical papers exploring relationships between profit, community and environment

3.      Empirical research elucidating CSR issues and discussing their theoretical implications

 

More specific topics may include, although are not limited to:

 

1.      Global business and its relationship with stakeholders

2.      Global business and its negative environmental impacts

3.      Global management and local human and civil rights issues, including child and forced labour, prostitution, migration and working conditions, product sourcing and purchase arrangements

4.      Corruption in Asian business and management circles

5.      Global business and issues of regional sustainable development

6.      Global business and its relation to perceived social risks in Asia
